The Pole House is eco- friendly. The living room has high, vaulted beams and the walls are made of a mixture of birch, pine, American redwood, cedar and Douglas fir, sourced from managed forests in Scandinavia, North America and Britain.

According to estate agent Jackie Stanley "It is based on an original Japanese design and made of some six to seven different types of wood. Kate Winslet fell in love with it because it was completely unusual and very eco at the time. They enjoyed and used it a lot but she moved on to other things."

In fact, the house was owned by Kate Winslet from 1998 to 2001.

It is currently on the market for £425,000 (about US$700,000), and managed by the same estate agent.   
The house could now be rented on this website. It's reasonably priced from £492 to £1,215 per week. (About US$800 to $2,000 per week) for the whole house.
