Inside Steven Spielberg's house in East Hampton: relaxed holiday home, Quelle Barn

The home of famous director Steven Spielberg in East Hampton has a relaxed style that lends itself very well to the surrounding.

Floor to ceiling windows frame the beautiful view of the garden from Steven Spielberg's informal living room, with sofas covered in loose natural linen and driftwood mementos

Architect Charles Gathmey designed a cedar-shingled guesthouse for the East Hampton residence of film director Steven Spielberg and his family. Seen from the arbor, the guesthouse’s gabled skylight caps the gallery, the spine of the structure.

The kitchen of Steven Spielberg's home was designed to be an open, participatory space, lit by the light from the window as well as massive skylight above

The children bedroom is "about intimacy and a sense of sharing,” architect Charles Gwathmey says. A Matthew Imperiale rug is the focal point in a children’s bedroom, where the bunk beds meet in ship’s-cabin style. It gives a nice sense of sleeping under the star

The whole environment is very sweet, soothing and pleasant. The house is as creative as Steven Spielberg. Wonderful director lives in a wonderful house.
